Formula For Business is all about helping working Business Owners get beyond working a job IN their business to multiply their earnings and business value. Creating a better ‘business asset’ provides more time to work ON the business and creates choices which were previously not available. This includes ‘engineering’ an exit which is more attractive that traditional ‘business sales’.

Working with many business owners through the years we discovered that the biggest barrier to growth in earnings and business value, is the owner working an active role IN the business. Experience after experiences showed that once the owners’ time working IN the business was reduced and focussed on other things, earnings, and business value where effectively ‘un-locked’. This then provides choices which were previously unavailable.

More interesting from a human level was the discovery that once freed up of their previous ‘working role’ owners had an incredible recovery of energy, enthusiasm and creativity. It is like ‘life-force’ itself is regained in what looks almost like a Soul Revival. This may sound like a stretch, but time and again business owners gained a new lease of life from this process.
This is the thing which we love the most. Sure, it’s great to make people much more money, and even engineer an exit which sees them financially set. But to see the light of excitement and possibility come into someone’s eyes as a result of the work we do… is truly inspiring.

Our Mission and Purpose is simple: to help working business owners with staff get beyond the working role in their business to develop a business asset which provides them with greater income and a whole host of choices because of far increased business value. Whether they choose to keep the income producing asset and continue the journey or engineer a big exit pay-day, the possibilities are real.

Simon’s background in pre-list capital raising and commercialising innovation has allowed him to acquire know-how through experience in engineering exit opportunities such as ‘trade-sale’ to larger (public) companies which result in far greater returns for business owners exiting than other, more commonly seen means of ‘selling’ a business.
Simon’s internationally published book ‘Forumla1 For Business’ introduced the analogy of a business as a Formula1 team where each role in the business is performed by separate, purpose focussed functions. The ‘Business Vehicle’ itself; The Owner representing his ‘ownership interests’ being quite independent of The Driver – who drives the Business Vehicle.

The ‘Pit Crew’ (employees) are critical in supporting The Driver, while ‘Specialist Engineers’ represent external specialist advisors such as Accountant, Lawyers, IT specialist . This analogy runs further into Information Monitoring (systems), Sponsors (financial backing) and The Fans (buyers of your product / service) without whom there is no event.
This perspective reminds us that The Business Vehicle should drive the Owners interest in the direction of maximising his / her life experience, as defined by the Owner. This is our ultimate objective.

We have seen a ‘skills paradox’ which dictates that – the skills which brought you to and make you successful at the present level, are the things which keep you stuck at the present level and prevent from going to the next level and beyond. Our role is to overcome this ‘skills paradox’ and avail business owners a whole new paradigm of what ‘being in business’ can look like and how their business can provide a life beyond their previous dreams.
